What is the purpose of existence? “He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity; a sense of divine purpose; in the human heart; a mysterious longing, which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God; – yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end,” Ecclesiastes 3:11 AMP.
The purpose of creation was stewardship, “the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it,” Genesis 2:15. God created the earth for mankind however He also made mankind steward of the creation. Mankind was created with the obligation to look after and take care of this world. Have you ever wondered, what is the purpose of your existence? Simply told, we are all connected to a common purpose of stewardship to this earth with an individualistic touch, “so we, who are many, are nevertheless just one body in Christ, and individually we are parts one of another mutually dependent on each other, since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to use them accordingly,” Romans 12:5 AMP.
Our world has become more and more materialistic, where humanity has become self-centered, we are all pursuing after our own purposes and chasing after wat the Bible calls vanity of vanities, forgetting that “we are like a breath; our days are like a passing shadow”, Psalm 144:4 ESV. Our stewardship of creation goes beyond our individual needs, it involves the caretaking of our families, communities, the environment and even animals.
